WHAT HAPPENED?
After a slow start to the season, promising midfielder Noel Buck has reportedly been traded from the New England Revolution to the San Jose Earthquakes. The U.S. youth international has been earmarked for future success, but he struggled to make an impact for New England after a disappointing loan with English club Southampton – where he spent the majority of his time with the U-21s.

Buck will reunite with former manager Bruce Arena in San Jose – the coach who handed him his debut in New England. Under the former USMNT manager, Buck became considered one of MLS's most promising talents. The classy midfielder is expected to form part of a double pivot in Arena's 3-4-1-2 system for the Western Conference club.
