WHAT HAPPENED?
The England striker joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023, a year after Poland hero Lewandowski departed for Barcelona, and has proven to be a spectacular signing. The 31-year-old has scored an amazing 80 goals in 88 matches over his two seasons in Germany so far.

Kane's 36 goals in the Bundesliga last season saw him fall short of breaking Lewandowski's record of 41 for the most goals in a single campaign, but former Barcelona and Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit feels that he has "banished" his predecessor's shadow at the Allianz Arena.

"Critics say that winning the Bundesliga means nothing but come on, German teams have been right there in European competitions in recent years and it’s a very difficult league to win," he said .
"Harry Kane has gone to Bayern Munich and banished the shadow of Robert Lewandowski absolutely brilliantly. For people that have criticised him maybe they need to look at where Spurs are now."

WHAT NEXT FOR KANE?
Kane has 24 Bundesliga goals to his name this season and will end his long search for a first major trophy this season as Vincent Kompany's men close in on the title. Lewandowski, meanwhile, is on course to win La Liga with Barcelona and has a three-goal lead over Kylian Mbappe in the division's goal chart.
